The Nintendo 64 has lots of great games so it can be hard to know what to choose. The lists below will tell you the most popular N64 gifts overall, great accessories, gifts for kids, and gifts for teenagers and adults.

Most Popular N64 Games Given As Gifts

Super Mario 64

Publisher: Nintendo

Super Mario 64 was a launch game for the Nintendo 64 and is the first 3D Mario game ever made and still the most popular game for the system. Like other Mario games you try to defeat Bowser to save Princess Peach. You have to run, jump, fly, hop, warp, and stomp your way to getting 120 stars spread through-out the Mushroom Kingdom.

Goldeneye

Publisher: Nintendo

You are Bond, James Bond. Your mission is to recover the key to a devastating Soviet orbital weapon, GoldenEye. Fight your way through 18 action-packed missions, using a host of Bond-esque weaponry and gadgets. Single player is good but what makes Goldeneye 007 is the four player versus mode. It's what makes it one of the best first person shooter games on a console.

Mario Kart 64

Publisher: Nintendo

Race as Mario, Luigi, Yoshi, Bowser, and many other Nintendo characters. Try to get to the finish line first while using heat seeking shells, speed boosting mushrooms, and invincibility stars. But be sure to avoid your opponents' weapons too. Race against the computer or compete against four of your friends in races or battles.

Zelda Ocarina of Time

Publisher: Nintendo

Journey through the land of Hyrule in the Nintendo 64's first installment in the Zelda series. An epic story in complete 3D, Zelda Ocarina of Time is the perfect combination of adventure, puzzle, battle, and discovery. Widely considered on of the best games of all time it is a very popular game for Nintendo 64 owners.

Donkey Kong 64

Publisher: Nintendo

Play your way through the single player adventure or duke it out in Battle mode against your friends. As you play through Donkey Kong 64 you'll learn new special moves for each Kong and gain new and devastating weapons. The game requires the Expansion Pak (see below) to play so be sure to buy one too if you buy Donkey Kong 64.

Starfox 64

Publisher: Nintendo

Fly a space ship as Fox McLoud and shoot down enemies, avoid obstacles, and fly through rings. Starfox 64 has 15 distinct missions in all, and you can conquer them in a number of different ways to finish the game. Starfox 64 is the sequel to Starfox for SNES and one of the first games to use the Rumble Pak.

Super Smash Bros.

Publisher: Nintendo

Nintendo characters fight it out in a battle royal. Play as Mario, Zelda, Pikachu, Bowser, and more and try to unlock hundreds of different trophies. If you get tired of pounding on computer opponents, recruit three friends and enjoy fighting against each other. One of the best games to play with other people.

Diddy Kong Racing

Publisher: Nintendo

Diddy Kong Racing is like Mario Kart but you can race in planes and boats as well as cars. The single player game is great trying to get first place in every race, but the real fun is in multiplayer. Four players racing it out and using bananas to sabotage each other gives people countless hours of fun.

Pokemon Stadium

Publisher: Nintendo

Battle Pokemon in the first 3D Pokemon game. Transfer your Pokemon from the Gameboy games using the Transfer Pak or use Pokemon already in the game. Battle to see if you are the real Pokemon Master. This is a great game for any Pokemon fan or fan of strategy/fighting games.

Banjo-Kazooie

Publisher: Nintendo

You are Banjo, a honey bear on the hunt for your kidnapped sister, Tooty. By your side or actually on your back is your trusty friend, the red gull Kazooie. Banjo and Kazooie each have different abilities to help you on your quest, and you can switch between the two in order to get the job done. A similar style game as Super Mario 64 (listed above).

Most Important Nintendo 64 Accessories

Gray Controller

Use: Extra Controller For Multiplayer Games

The Nintendo 64 Console only comes with one controller but has four slots available. Extra controllers are almost a necessity for the N64 because so many of the games are best played with friends in the room. If you have multiple kids or they have lots of friends you should consider getting three extra controllers so everyone can play at once.

Memory Card

Use: Save Games

A memory card is another very important accessory for a Nintendo 64 owner. Many games require a memory card to save your progress. If you are buying for someone who likes sports games this is highly recommended because all sports game need the memory card to save.

Expansion Pak

Use: Add Better Graphics To Games

The expansion pak is inserted into the N64 System and gives the games better graphics, opens up new levels, or allows different game play options. Some games like Donkey Kong 64 and Zelda Majora's Mask require an Expansion Pak to play. The majority of games will play just fine without this accessory but it is a good addition if you want better graphics.

Rumble Pak

Use: Add Realism To Games

The rumble pak is inserted into a controller and shakes during the game. When you get tackled in a football game it shakes so you feel the tackle instead of just seeing it. The rumble pak is not required for any games, but every controller needs its own Rumble Pak if you want this feature.

Atomic Purple Controller

Use: Cool Looking Controller For Multiplayer Games

You don't have to settle for the Gray Controller if you want some extra controllers. The Nintendo 64 has tons of different colors to choose from including Black, Red, Yellow, Blue, Green, and different see-through colors.
